Lady Marines Show Energy and Growth in Home Opener

November 8th 2025 The Hamilton Lady Marines hosted the Churubusco Eagles on Saturday afternoon for their 2025–26 home opener. Despite falling 52–16, the Marines showed tremendous energy and effort—especially in the opening quarter, where they trailed just 13–7 after several hustle plays and strong defensive possessions. Senior TeigAnn Freed led the scoring for Hamilton with 5 points, while fellow senior Marissa Mercer added 4. Freshman Lydia Hicks made a memorable impact by scoring her first career high school points, finishing with 4. Junior Bella Rivera chipped in 3 to round out the scoring. Head Coach Kris Tadsen praised the team’s intensity and teamwork throughout the game, noting the improvement from their season opener earlier in the week. The Lady Marines (0–2) will look to keep building momentum when they return to action on Thursday night at home against Prairie Heights’ JV team at 6:00 PM.
