November 6th 2025 The Hamilton Marines opened their 2025–26 varsity girls basketball season on the road Thursday night, traveling to take on the Westview Warriors. Head Coach Kris Tadsen, now in his second year leading the Lady Marines program, guided a roster that features six returning varsity letter winners along with six new faces—including five freshmen and one junior making their high school basketball debuts. The season opener proved to be a tough test as Westview’s defensive pressure set the tone early, holding the Marines to limited scoring opportunities. Hamilton battled throughout the contest but ultimately fell by a score of 58–4. Senior Tristen Creager led the way for the Marines, recording 4 points and 9 rebounds in a strong effort on both ends of the floor. Fellow senior TeigAnn Freed added 4 rebounds and 2 steals, showcasing her defensive intensity. Despite the outcome, the young Hamilton squad continues to gain valuable experience and will look to regroup quickly. The Lady Marines return home on Saturday for a 1:00 PM matchup against Churubusco, where they’ll aim to bounce back and show continued growth. Hamilton Community Schools and the Hamilton Athletics Department are proud of the effort and determination shown by the Lady Marines as they begin their season.
