Fairfield Varsity Falcons Defeats Fremont On Back Of Clutch Display From Garber

Garber drove in four runs on two hits to lead Fairfield Varsity Falcons past Fremont 16-3 on Thursday at Fremont High School. In the sixth inning, Garber tripled, scoring three runs. Fairfield Varsity Falcons opened the scoring in the first after Huser singled, scoring one run. Fairfield Varsity Falcons added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Huser singled down the left field line, and Castetter walked, each scoring one run. Fairfield Varsity Falcons scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Beachy doubled, scoring one run, Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, Huser doubled, scoring two runs, and Castetter hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Fairfield Varsity Falcons scored six runs on four hits in the top of the sixth inning. Tobias singled, scoring one run, Garber tripled, scoring three runs, Miller doubled, scoring one run, and Huser doubled, scoring one run. Huser earned the win for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. The starter gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Clapp took the loss for Fremont. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking five. Tobias tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Fairfield Varsity Falcons in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none. Fairfield Varsity Falcons accumulated 12 hits in the game. Huser led Fairfield Varsity Falcons with four hits in five at bats. Miller collected three hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons in four at bats. Beachy paced Fairfield Varsity Falcons with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Fairfield Varsity Falcons ran wild on the base paths, accumulating eight stolen bases for the game. Stigler and Rodriguez each collected two hits for Fremont. Foster, Householder, and Stigler each drove in one run for Fremont. Fairfield Varsity Falcons welcome Elkhart Christian Academy Varsity Eagles on Friday for their next game.
