Jones Leads Fairfield Varsity Falcons Past Garrett Varsity Railroaders

Jones was dominant in the circle, as the starting pitcher rang up 18 strikeouts in Fairfield Varsity Falcons's 4-0 victory over Garrett Varsity Railroaders on Tuesday at Fairfield Jr-Sr High School. Jones allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking three. Fairfield Varsity Falcons got on the board in the first inning after Yoder singled, scoring one run. Vanderbosch took the loss for Garrett Varsity Railroaders. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out nine and walking none. Fought and Jones each collected two hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Caouette went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Jones stole two bases. Fairfield Varsity Falcons were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Caouette had the most chances in the field with 17. DePew, Grindstaff, and Edwards each collected one hit for Garrett Varsity Railroaders. Gullett stole three bases. Garrett Varsity Railroaders ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
