Fought Puts On Strong Performance As Fairfield Varsity Falcons Take The Win Over Wawasee Varsity Warriors

Fought collected three hits in four at bats, as Fairfield Varsity Falcons defeated Wawasee Varsity Warriors 9-1 on Wednesday at Fairfield Jr-Sr High School. Fought singled in the seventh inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Mast didn't allow a run. Though Wawasee Varsity Warriors did collect eight hits. Fairfield Varsity Falcons opened the scoring in the third after Jones doubled, scoring one run. Fairfield Varsity Falcons scored five runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. Yoder singled, scoring one run, Caouette singled, scoring one run, Copen scored after tagging up, and Fought singled, scoring two runs. Corn hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the seventh for the Wawasee Varsity Warriors. Alvarez took the loss for Wawasee Varsity Warriors. The righty went seven innings, allowing nine runs on 14 hits, striking out four and walking two. Fairfield Varsity Falcons piled up 14 hits in the game. Fought and Jones each collected three hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Wilhelm and Copen each collected multiple hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Copen stole two bases. Fairfield Varsity Falcons ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Fairfield Varsity Falcons turned one double play in the game. Corn went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Corn and Willey each collected two hits for Wawasee Varsity Warriors. Next up for Fairfield Varsity Falcons is a game at Angola Varsity Hornets on Thursday.
