Madison Jones Goes Cycling As Fairfield Varsity Falcons Defeat Concord Varsity Minuteman By GameChanger Media Madison Jones hit for the cycle to carry Fairfield Varsity Falcons to an 8-5 victory over Concord Varsity Minuteman on Thursday at Fairfield Jr-Sr High School. Jones hit a home run to left field in the first inning, tripled in the sixth inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning. Concord Varsity Minuteman were the first to get on the board in the first when Esmeralda Perez hit a solo home run to center field. Fairfield Varsity Falcons flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Jones that drove in three. Fairfield Varsity Falcons added one run in the second after Preslee Caouette grounded into a fielder's choice. Paige Park earned the win for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. The starter gave up four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Taelynn McKinney took the loss for Concord Varsity Minuteman. The hurler went two innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out four and walking one. Allison Ralston started the game for Concord Varsity Minuteman. The righty surrendered nine hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Jones and Grace Mast each appeared in relief for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Fairfield Varsity Falcons piled up 11 hits in the game. Lilly Yoder and Jones each collected four hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Yoder and Jones each stole multiple bases for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Fairfield Varsity Falcons ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game. Perez went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Lizbeth Flores led Concord Varsity Minuteman with three hits in four at bats.
