Last evening, we honored our senior athletes who have dedicated countless hours of hard work, commitment, and leadership both on and off the court. These seniors have left their mark on our program, not only through their skill and determination, but also through the example they’ve set for their teammates and the legacy they leave behind. Denae Browning, daughter of Savannah Browning & granddaughter of Colin Ratliff. Denae has played varsity volleyball for three years and helped manage the track team for two years. She plans to play volleyball in college and major in Psychology, eventually becoming a psychiatrist. Danae’s favorite Bronco memory is “Going to a men’s Ball State game with my team her sophomore year.” Iva Dodd, daughter of Kristina and Shaun Dodd. Iva has managed Volleyball for three years, been in band for six years including honors band where she received three golds and a silver for solos and ensembles. After graduation, Iva plans to move to North Carolina and become a registered Nurse. Her advice to future Broncos is to “always have fun and not to let anything hold you back.” Kelsi Kahalekomo, daughter of Lisa & Kelii Kahalekomo. Kelsi has played Volleyball for four years, qualified for Academic-All Conference, two time defensive player of the year, 2024 All Out, All game, All Season, & two time sectional champion. She is currently undecided on which college to attend but plans to become an ultrasound technician. Kelsi’s favorite volleyball memories include the bus ride around town after winning Sectionals and the team bonding at Grandpa Mike’s house, specifically using the zipline. Lillyana Ray, daughter of Chris and Michelle Ray. Lillyana has played volleyball for all four years of high school. After graduating, she plans to go to Ball State for special education and deaf education with a possible minor in photography. Her favorite memory was in the Seton Catholic game when she kicked the ball up as a last-second resort, and it went over and scored! Avalon Reed, daughter of Rhiannon and Kelly Reed. Avalon has played volleyball for a total of eleven years. JV Volleyball for a year and Varsity Volleyball for three years, as well as a year of playing Tennis. She plans on attending either IU Bloomington or the University of Cincinnati to Study Forensic Pathology. Avalon’s favorite memory was winning Sectionals both her Sophomore and Junior years and getting escorted around town. Lillian Roberts, daughter of Chris and Renee Roberts. Lillian has played volleyball for all four years of high school. After graduation, she plans to attend Asbury University to study exercise science and psychology. During this time she would also like to be part of their ROTC Program. Lillian’s advice to future Broncos “is to find something you are passionate about and use it to make the school, community, and world a better place.” Laci Swingley, daughter of Mitch and Heather Swingley. Laci has played Varsity Volleyball for three years, spent two years as the varsity boys Wrestling manager, two years in student Media, two years in FCA, two years in the Athletic Council, and two years in English National Honors Society. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana and major in Nursing. Laci’s favorite Volleyball memory is going over to “Grandpa Mike's" house her junior year for team bonding. (Grandpa Mike is the team’s bus driver)” Antonia Bacher & Chiara D’Errico escorted by Jennifer & James Sandberg. Antonia is an exchange student from Austria and Chiara is an exchange student from Italy. They both love playing volleyball and staying active. Antonia is currently undecided on her plans after high school. Chiara would like to be a doctor or maybe a surgeon but she still has time to figure that out. The advice both girls would share with future Broncos is “don’t let fear win. Just do it no matter how scary it may seem at first. Go Broncos!” On behalf of the coaches, teammates, families, and our entire community, we thank you for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to this program.
