2025 Soccer & Cross Country Senior Night

Last evening at the Varsity Soccer game vs. Elwood we were proud to recognize and honor 3 soccer seniors and 4 cross country seniors- Best of luck to all these athletes as they finish their senior seasons this fall. Below are the write-ups read last evening for each senior. Soccer Seniors Leon Ellison, son of Amy and Tom Roberts. Leon has played soccer for six years and track and field for two years. Leon is currently undecided in his plans after high school. His advice to future Broncos is to “just show up and try your best.” Kinsey Erickson, escorted by her mom Elizabeth Keller and step dad Kerry Keller. Kinsey has been a part of Daleville’s soccer program for four years now. She plans to attend the University of Florida to study Zoology. In the words of Ray Bradbury “Love what you do and do what you love.” Noah Nixon, son of Craig and Jody Nixon. Noah has played soccer for four years and is currently a soccer captain. Golf for three years, where he was named MVP. Also a valuable member of the Science, Math, and Fine Arts Academic teams for three years. Noah has been in the band for four years and won the Directors Award last year. He plans to attend Earlham College and study either environmental sustainability or psychology. Noah’s advice to future players is “to try and treat everyone even better than you were treated each and every year.” Cross Country Seniors Makenna Corbin, daughter of Kathy & Eric Corbin. Makenna has run cross country for four years. She was part of the regional qualifying team for two years. Academic MEC twice and most improved runner once. She will also have played basketball for four years, awarded best defensive player, and was a member of the Sectional Championship team. She will have also participated in track and field events for four years, making academic MEC twice, and received the mental attitude award. Makenna is currently undecided which college she is attending but plans to study dental hygiene. Her favorite cross country memory was during her sophomore year when the team went to Applebee’s after one of their meets. Macy Kirkpatrick, daughter of Tracy Baker and Ryan Kirkpatrick. Macy has run cross country all four years of high school and made it to regionals two times. She is currently undecided on which college but plans to major in business administration and pursue a career in real estate. Macy also plans to own her own wedding venue one day. Her favorite cross country memory was “when I advanced to Regionals in 2024 and my whole family came to watch me.” Avery Paxson, escorted by his mom Brandi. Avery has run Cross Country for two years, Wrestling for two years, and Baseball for five years. He plans to join the Navy after Graduation. Avery’s advice to future Broncos is “to make school a priority before sports.” Nick Pugsley, son of John and Darby Pugsley. Nick has run Cross Country for eight years, winning the Rookie of the year award as well as Academic All Conference. He has participated in track and field for six years where he has been recognised for his Honor, Courage, & Commitment. After graduation Nick plans to continue working at Ed Martin while attending Ivy Tech for HVAC. His favorite cross country memory is “crushing my PR by a minute at sectional my freshman year.”
