TITLES. 🎾🏆 Chesterton Girls Tennis captured its 6th consecutive IHSAA Sectional Championship this week, defeating Valparaiso, Boone Grove, and Portage to continue an incredible run — adding a Sectional crown to their DAC Championship season! “We had to beat a very good Valpo team twice this year and beating a good program twice in one season is tough,” said Coach Tom Bour. “But you gotta give so much credit to these girls, they came up big on Tuesday over Valpo and we’re proud of them. These moments never get old.” 🔥 Singles Highlights: • Senior Co-Captain Kenzie Kania went 3-0 during Sectionals, dropping just six total games and improving to 19-2 overall after a perfect 7-0 DAC season. • Kendal Gallion also finished 3-0 on the week, improving to 13-6 overall. • Emma Dobson battled all week at #3 singles and now stands at 17-4 overall. 🔥 Doubles Dominance: The Trojan doubles teams combined to go 6-0 during the tournament and are now a combined 26-2 on the season. • Amelia Smith & Genevieve Driscoll improved to 15-1 together at #1 doubles. • Lizzy Navarro & Morgan Matthys moved to 11-1 together after a dominant sectional performance. Next up: Chesterton advances to the IHSAA Regional next Tuesday at LaPorte to face New Prairie.
