The Chesterton varsity girls basketball team opened up the season with a 62-39 victory at Highland on Thursday night. Three players scored in double-figures for the Trojans: Freshman Ella Boyanski led with 17 points and sophomores Lindsi McGuffey and Reese Dilbeck had 14 and 10 points respectively. Novea Brandon also adde 8 points in the win. The team got great defensive efforts from Allison Van Kley, Addison Pack, and Taylor Kisic to help limit Highland to 16 points in the second half. The team travels to Northridge on Saturday for a match-up the a very tough Raiders squad. Tip-off is at 6:30.
