Cathedral Draws Anderson to Begin Football Postseason

The Indiana High School Athletic Association has drawn its pairings for the 53rd Annual Football State Tournament. Indianapolis Cathedral will compete in Class 5A this year – moving down from 6A the last three seasons under the IHSAA’s Success Factor. The Fighting Irish previously played in 5A for seven seasons, compiling a 30-3 record and winning state championships in 2013, 2014, 2020, and 2021. Cathedral will begin the 2025 tournament by traveling to Anderson for Halloween. The Fighting Irish are 3-0 all-time against the Indians, previously defeating them in Class 5A sectional play in 2013 and 2014. New Palestine is at Plainfield in the other Sectional 13 matchup. The two schools have never played each other in the football postseason.
