Whitko High School is proud to announce that Landon Smith has officially signed to continue his wrestling and academic career at Defiance College in Defiance, OH. The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 18 at 3:30pm in the Whitko Jr./Sr. High School Commons Area. Smith took this year’s season to the semi-state level, dominating his weight class this winter and ending his high school career with 100 varsity wins. We would like to congratulate Landon on his commitment to Defiance. Landon's work ethic, dedication, and competitiveness are always present. He is going to have a terrific college career, not only for those characteristics mentioned, but because of who he is as a person. Landon exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. He cares about his peers, supports them, and pushes them to be better. His impact on Whitko Wrestling and Whitko Athletics will go far beyond his time spent as a Wildcat. Defiance College is getting a terrific wrestler, student-athlete, and human being. Joining in on the occasion were not only his fellow wrestlers, but most of the spring sports athletes. We are pleased to celebrate with Landon and his family on this outstanding achievement.
