The Whitko Athletic Department welcomed guests to Senior Night Tuesday, January 13 prior to the boys wrestling meet vs. Columbia City. Whitko wrestlers from the class of 2026 were honored. The following seniors were recognized for their talents and accomplishments. *Hannah Moore* Hannah is the daughter of Charles and Christina Moore. During her high school career, she participated in volleyball, tennis, wrestling, golf, SADD, and NHS. Hannah’s future plans are to attend Regent University and pursue a bachelor's degree in law and national security, and to commission as an officer in the Navy. Coach Neeley shared, “Starting any sport as a senior is very hard but in our sport, that’s putting it mildly. Wrestling is unlike any sport Hannah had ever participated in and as many of you know, quite demanding. Hannah came in having to learn things some of her opponents had known for years. The beginning of the season was a tough learning curve and had to be met with determination to fix errors, show grit in the practice room and continue to fix the little things. Out of her first 10 matches, Hannah recorded only three takedowns. She scored a total of 14 points in the first 11 matches. However, the season didn't stop after 11 matches and Hannah continued to improve. Over her final eight matches Hannah recorded 10 takedowns and over that same time frame she attacked and racked up 48 points. Again, that was 14 points in 11 matches compared to 48 points in 8. Her improvement was remarkable, not to mention she was winning her money round to go to regionals, but had one of the pesky little things happen and could not continue. Hannah should be proud of all of her efforts in the toughest sport known because as her coach, I am!” *Caylee Clark* Caylee is the daughter of Cory Clark and the granddaughter of Karen Cupp. During her high school career, she participated in wrestling, softball and student council. Her future plans are to attend Ball State University for criminology and become a police officer. Coach Neeley shared, “What can I say besides I will always hate the game “ghost in the graveyard” thanks to her! For those who don’t know, Caylee started her wrestling career as a sophomore before injuries plagued her career. During that first year Caylee had a typical start for a new wrestler. She had her struggles and even almost refused to go to a tournament because she was the only one competing that weekend. She finally agreed to go, received her first trip to the podium and placed second even though she was our solo wrestler. Caylee went on to stun the wrestling world and made it to semi-state eventually losing in the money round to the #1 girl in the state. Following the season she tore her ACL in softball. She recovered and was cleared by the doctor without time to compete her junior year. The following spring she decided to play “ghost in the graveyard” and tore her ACL again - hence why I hate the game. Both last year and this year, Caylee stayed involved with our program helping in practice with our one female wrestler at the high school level and underclassmen as well as going to all the meets to cheer on Whitko’s solo female wrestler. Caylee is listed as a manager but she is part coach, cheerleader, and manager all rolled into one.” *Lincoln Koser* Lincoln is the son of Brian and Briana Koser. During his high school career, he participated in wrestling, track, and football. His future plans are to join the military. *Landon Smith* Landon is the son of Nicol and Jeffrey Lewis. During his high school career, he participated in football, wrestling, baseball, track, HOSA, student council, and basketball. His future plans are to attend Defiance College to pursue a major in marketing and to wrestle. *Harper Reilly* Harper is the son of Lyon Reilly and Angela King. During his high school career, he participated in wrestling and track. His future plans are to attend IU Bloomington and pursue a major in nursing. Congratulations to these student-athletes and thank you for your contribution to Whitko Athletics!
