South Vermillion High School Athletics

South Vermillion High School boys tennis team traveled to Covington on Monday evening, coming away with a 3-2 conference win. For varsity, Landon Downs won 6-1, 6-4 at #1 singles. Blake Buckingham won 6-4, 6-2 at #2 singles. Henry Bush won 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at #3 singles. Brock Skinner and Aidan Lacey lost at #1 doubles 0-6, 2-6. Bryson Lemmons and Ethan Stultz lost 6-7, 4-6 at #2 doubles. For JV, Carter Allen won in singles while Norton Newcomb and Braydon Crim fell just short in doubles. South Vermillion is now 2-1 on the season, also earning the Wildcats and Coach Scott his first conference win as Head Coach. The varsity boys tennis team plays again tomorrow at Attica starting at 5:00 p.m.
