Travioli and Richardson are 1st in Women’s Wrestling History to be Named WRC Champions

2024 WRC Championship Results Attica, Indiana - the South Vermillion Women’s Wrestling team traveled to the confines of the Red Ramblers to battle for Wabash River Conference championships. The Wildcats finished in fourth place as a team. At the end of the meet, the Wildcats ended up with two champions, Rosie Travioli at 155-weight class and Hope Richardson at the 170-weight class. Ireland Nickle finished as runner-up in the 135-weight class. The Wildcats also had two ladies placing in third place. Those two were Kayleigh Butler at the 120-weight class and Kara Beckman at the 145-weight class. The Wildcats had two ladies finishing in fourth place finishers, Colbi Koenig at 130-weight class and Karina Mendoza at the 235-weight class. Natalia Bigler placed in fifth place. “It was a good night for our ladies. They fought extremely hard and represented South Vermillion very well,” said Coach Ron Stateler.
