South Vermillion High School Athletics

The Wildcat swim team’s season came to an end at the State Finals Prelims tonight. Swimming against the likes of Carmel & Zionsville, our guys held their own, with some posting even better times than their sectional championship qualifiers. Brock Skinner started things off with the 50 free, posting a 22.62- better than his sectional time. Trevor Shannon fought hard in the 100 butterfly, posting a 56.81- also better than his sectional time. Brock’s 100 Free was well-swam, coming very close to his seeding time, with a finish of 50.23 seconds. The 200 free relay team of Trevor Shannon, Blake Buckingham, Brock Skinner, and Cael Buddle finished with a 1:33.69, almost edging past BNL. Making the State Finals is a HUGE accomplishment, and everyone at SV is proud of you guys! NOTE- NONE of our swimmers who competed tonight were seniors. Everyone already knows this, but there is a LOT of promise for the future of swim at SV!
