The Lady Bears traveled to Mt. Vernon for the HHC championships on Tuesday night. The relay teams carried the squad as the points scored from each of those three events made up the entire final tally. The 4x800 of Aerin Garcia, Avery Keller, Daisy Barrett, and Cora Flynn took 7th place with a time of 12:25.73. The 4x100 of Emma Claxton, Chevelle Prather, Ava Ruschhaupt, and Brooke Byers took 6th place with a time of 57.90. The 4x400 of Garcia, Byers, Prather, and Kinsley Kirschbaum took 8th place with a time of 4:56.71. I've been continually impressed with the progress they've made and the countless PRs they've set in spite of tough competition. It would have been very easy for them to become dejected and discouraged, but they have shown tremendous positivity and have continued to support each other through good times and bad. I am very proud of them! Next up is the sectional meet hosted by New Palestine on Tuesday, May 16th.
