The Blue Devils, after coming off a stunner taking down the #1 team in Division 2 the Eskimos from Escanaba, they knew they had a shot of being etched into the history books. But it wasn't going to be easy taking on a 30+ win Paw Paw team. Richmond started off hot early Audrina Nader angled a great bunt to score in her sister, freshmen Kendall Nader from 3rd base to make it 1-0. In the same inning, Ana MacKiernan put a ground ball in play for a fielder's choice bringing home Audrina Nader taking a 2-0 lead. It would remain that until the bottom of the 6th where Emma Bambrick would slap bunt into left centerfield for an RBI double scoring Ana McKiernan to make it 3-0. The Ferris State commit Katie Shuboy went on a tear at the mound with 1H 0R 1BB 10K. With a blooper to the mound, to Shuboy tossed it over to first base for the final out as Richmond was crowned State Champions for the 3rd time in program history and finished the season 32-7 overall!
