North Vermillion Jr./Sr. High School is excited to announce Nate Crum as the 22nd Head Football Coach in program history. Coach Crum brings nearly two decades of football coaching experience to North Vermillion, most recently serving as the Defensive Coordinator at North Montgomery. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for energy, preparation, and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. “We were looking for a leader who could ignite our program, build real relationships with our kids, and establish a clear identity for North Vermillion Football,” said Athletic Director Martin Brown. “Coach Crum stood out throughout the process for his preparation, vision, and commitment to doing things the right way.” Beyond scheme, Coach Crum places a strong emphasis on player development, strength and conditioning, and building relationships that extend beyond Friday nights. He believes in creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and held to a high standard, while also encouraging multi-sport participation and strong ties to the school and community. “We were impressed not only by Nate’s football knowledge, but by the way he consistently brought everything back to our kids and our program,” Brown added. “He has a plan, he has energy, and he has a genuine desire to invest in North Vermillion Football for the long term.” Coach Crum inherits a program with a proud tradition and a strong foundation of young student-athletes. He will officially begin his duties ahead of the 2026 football season and looks forward to becoming an active presence within the North Vermillion community.
