Addison Retzinger Sets Strikeout Record In Ranked Softball Victory

RUSSIAVILLE, Ind. — In a tightly contested ranked matchup at Western High School on Wednesday night, Miller Softball edged out Western 3–2. Pitcher Addison Retzinger's impressive performance, striking out 19 batters over seven innings, alongside home runs from Reese Newsom and Blythe Walker, propelled the Millers to victory. Retzinger was dominant on the mound, pitching a complete game with seven innings of work. She allowed just two runs, only one of which was earned, on five hits while striking out a school record 19 batters and being responsible for 20 of the 21 outs. Her efforts earned her the win in the contest. Newsom went 1-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run, while Walker went 1-for-3 with a 2-run home run.
