Jared Rhodes to Coach Boys Basketball Arabians

PENDLETON HEIGHTS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Arabians Name Rhodes Head Boys Basketball Coach At their last meeting the South Madison Community School Board of Trustees approved Jared Rhodes as the next boys’ varsity basketball head coach. Rhodes is the 12th coach in program history. Coach Rhodes is a high school graduate from John Glenn High School in northern Indiana. He then attended IPFW and served as a team manager while at college. Following his undergrad work, Coach Rhodes mostly spent time on the hardwood at the collegiate level. Coach Rhoades started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Indiana Institute of Technology (2014-205), he then attended Jacksonville University (FL) and worked as a graduate assistant while earning a Master’s Degree (2015-2017). After earning his second degree, Coach Rhodes was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. He served in that role at Jacksonville from 2017-2020. Following his final season as the Director of Basketball Operations, Coach Rhodes moved with his wife to State College, PA. Over the course of two seasons in high school basketball, Coach Rhodes crafted his approach to be successful at the high school level. In addition to working with student-athletes in the basketball arena, Coach Rhodes taught math as well where he improved the team’s academic results. “I’m incredibly honored and truly humbled to be named the head boys’ basketball coach at Pendleton Heights,” Rhodes stated. “This is a special community with a proud tradition and my family and I are excited to be a part of it. I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead and invest in our young men both on and off the court.” Coach Rhodes will also teach math classes at the high school. Statement from Chad Smith, Athletic Director at Pendleton Heights: “Whenever a coaching search begins, you never know where it will lead you. Luckily in this case, the journey led us to Jared Rhodes. Coach Rhodes is hungry to put is stamp on a program and is a relentless worker in the classroom, on the court, in the scouting department in preparation for opponents, and is prolific in relationship building. He also shares the same vision that athletes are students first. We are proud to have him as the newest Arabian. To use Coach Rhodes’ term when informed of his selection, “LET’S GO!”
