The PHHS boys and girls opened their 2025 season on Saturday at the Trojan XC Opener held at Taylor University’s cross country course in Upland. The boys placed 3rd out of 18 complete teams. Convoy Crestview (OH) was 1st with 74 points; 2nd Guerin Catholic 97 points; and 3rd PHHS with 111 points. Senior, Benson Davis, edged out teammate , Zack White, for 5th place overall in a time of 16:10. Senior, Zack White, was 6th with a career best time of 16:12. Junior, Henry Corbin, was 19th with a career best time of 17:33 and finishing in the top 20 earning a top 20 award. Other finishers: 34th Connor Weflen 47th Ryder Engelhardt 48th Ashton Smith 53rd Luke Sellers 65th Thaxon Carpenter 66th Dane Sutton 142nd Max Ricketts 168th Dane Marlow The girls placed 3rd overall out of 16 complete teams. Guerin Catholic was the overall winner with 48 points; 2nd Heritage Christian with 63 points; and 3rd PHHS with 121 points. Sophomore, Anya Zoeller, was the overall winner with a time of 18:20. This was Anya’s fastest time on this course. Junior, Maddie Marsh, placed 5th overall with a time of 20:40, also faster than last year. Zoeller and Marsh both earned top 20 honors. The Madison County meet will also be scored out of this meet.
