Pendleton Boys Track & Field Compete at the IHSAA Regional

Lawrence Central High School – It was the boys’ turn to compete at the track & field regional Thursday night. The Arabian qualifiers competed well, and Pendleton is sending a boy athlete to the State meet for the first time since 2021. Results: Senior Gabe Martin threw the disc 130’ 10” to place 11th and placed 12th in the Shot Put at 49’ 8”. Gabe closes out his track career as one of the best throwers to ever do it at Pendleton Heights. His shot put best of 53’ 10” makes him the 2nd best in school history. Senior Keaton Jones ran a quick 11.17 in the 100M to claim 14th and 22.66 in the 200M for 12th. Despite only running track for one year in high school, he is one of only three Pendleton athletes to ever break the 11 second barrier. Junior Benson Davis ran 9:36.38 to finish 2nd in the 3200M to qualify for the State Championship on Friday, June 6. Junior Zack White was 8th in the 3200M in 9:54.92. Zack is one of the ten fastest Arabians all-time in the 3200M and is the second fastest in the last 8 years. Ryder Engelhardt ran 52.51 in the 400M. He finishes the season in the top 10 all-time for the 400M. 4 x 100M | Owen Kean (JR), Ashaan Singh (JR), Talan Foster (JR), and Keaton Jones (SR) finished 14th in 44.46. This event has been a strength for Pendleton all season, setting a new school record in the sectional last week. 4 x 400M | Joel Weaver (FR), Owen Kean (JR), Nolan Hobbs (FR), Ryder Engelhardt (SO) finished 16th in 3:29.26. This was a season best for the Arabians and the fastest 4x400 in 5 years. You can watch Benson Davis at the State meet on Friday, June 6 at North Central High School. The meet starts at 3pm.
