V Baseball: Mt. Vernon Recap - 4/29/25

The Arabians suffered their first loss of the season on a rainy Tuesday night at Mt. Vernon. Two solo home runs, one in the third and one in the fourth, put Mt. Vernon up by two heading into the fifth. The Arabians responded by putting up two in the sixth to even the score. Mt. Vernon answered back with a five run bottom half of the sixt to regain control. Despite being down 7-2 heading into the seventh, the Arabians mounted a comeback, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate in the top of the seventh, but the comeback fell just short. Ty Frakes, Mazon Saxon, and Colton Frank all recorded multi-hit games for the Arabians. Ty Frakes ended the night 2-3 with a run scored. Mazon Saxon finished 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Colton Frank went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Colton Frank turned in another quality start. Across five innings pitched, he allowed two runs on five hits and struck out seven. His season record sits at 3-0 after the no-decision. Ryland Montgomery saw his first varsity action on the mound and secured two big outs to get out of the sixth inning. With the loss, the Arabians fall to 10-1 on the year and 6-1 in conference. They will have a chance to rebound and split the series as the Marauders head to Bill Stoudt Field on Wednesday night.
