Baseball: Nick Muller Tournament vs. Anderson Recap

On Thursday night, the Arabians hung on for a 13-9 victory over Anderson. The Arabians got some clutch at bats and showed off some power in the semi-final matchup of the Nick Muller Madison County Tournament. Colin Axel-Adams had a monster day at the plate. A single away from hitting for the cycle, he went 3-4 with a double, triple, and a home run. He scored three runs and went for three RBIs as well. Mazon Saxon went 1-2 with two walks and four runs scored. Jordan Williamson went 1-2 with three RBIs and a run scored. Brayden Stevenson made his one hit on the night count as he blasted a home run over the center field fence. On the mound, Brandt Gray got the start. He went four innings, five earned runs, and six strikeouts. Jameson Walford came on for two innings of relief giving up no earned runs on one hit, striking out two. Walford would be credited with the win. Colin Axel-Adams closed out the final inning striking out three. With the victory, the Arabians move to 7-0 on the season and move on to the championship game in the Nick Muller Madison County Tournament. The championship will be played on Friday, May 2. The Arabians will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22 as they resume conference play against Shelbyville. PH: 13 runs, 9 hits, 2 errors AN: 9 runs, 7 hits, 3 errors
