The Lady Arabians started their Sectional 9 run with a bye before playing against the Anderson Indians in round two. The Pendleton Heights team had their mind set on winning sectionals from the start of their season and would not let anything get in their way of accomplishing this goal. The Lady Arabians brought the heat to another Madison County team with a final score of 67-25. The team was led in scoring by senior Kaycie Warfel with 23 points. Sophomore Adah Hupfer had another double-double game adding 14 points and 15 rebounds. Junior Mamie Trout had 11 points. Junior Olivia Jones fired up 9 points. Senior Emma Roberts had 6 points. Sophomores Aubree Warfel and Jada McGraw were able to contribute 2 points each to the Arabian win. Lady Arabians came out hot in the first quarter leading Anderson 24-3. As the team headed to the locker room at halftime, the girls continued to control the boards, push the ball, and have game changing defensive stops to grow the lead to 46-12. Every rostered Lady Arabian found their way on the floor to be a part of a big win for this team. Yet, this team is just getting started in the IHSAA State tournament. The Lady Arabians will take on a sectional foe the Mt. Vernon Marauders on Saturday, February 8th at 7:30 PM at Mt Vernon High School. In past years, the Lady Arabians have fallen short to the Lady Marauders when sectionals came around. They have their minds set on cutting down those nets come Saturday night.
