By Michael Smith | Feb 6, 2025 9:48 PM

The Arabians picked up a big conference win tonight over the visiting Yorktown Tigers. It was all Pendleton Heights early, as Cooper Sims returned to action and hit 3 three-pointers within the first two-and-a-half minutes. The Tigers would take the first timeout down 11-0, but the Arabians were only getting started. After the quick break, Evan Mozingo got to the bucket again and again, and the home team continued their hot start all the way to a 28-0 run to open the game! Yorktown finally got on the board in the final minute of the first quarter to make it 28-2 after 1. With the momentum clearly on the Arabians' side, the offense continued to click and the defense held firm in the second quarter. With balanced scoring and tough defense, PH extended the lead to 36-4, then 40-7. The Tigers would only score 8 in the second quarter, making the halftime score a lopsided 46-10. To their credit, Yorktown came out eager to battle in the second half, holding even with the Arabians and matching them score for score. As the third quarter progressed, the Tigers worked to chip away at a lead that would prove insurmountable. The fourth quarter continued with the running clock, and PH would see the game out to get back in the win column. Sims scored 23 points in a triumphant return for the Arabians, shooting 8/11 from the floor which included 5/7 on threes. He also contributed 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Hayden Fox was terrific in finding his open teammates, leading the Arabians with 7 assists and adding 6 points of his own, along with 4 boards and 2 steals. Evan Mozingo scored 14 points, and Joe Estes led Pendleton Heights with 6 rebounds, followed closely by Ashann Singh with 5. Both Estes and Singh scored 6 points each. Next up for the Arabians is a road trip to Mississinewa High School on Tuesday, 2/11.
