The Arabians traveled to Wapahani Saturday night to face last year's Class 2A State Runner-Up. The action got going early, with both teams hitting 3-pointers on their first possession. The Raiders continued to shoot it well early, as Pendleton Heights missed a couple of early shots and rebounds, and the hosts were content to hold the ball with a 15-11 lead for the final minute of the first quarter. Wapahani continued their hot shooting in the second quarter, getting to halftime with a 32-24 lead on 8/17 three-point shooting. Even as Pendleton Heights increased its scoring output in the second quarter, the Raiders continued to pour it in after halftime to the delight of the home crowd, opening up the 2nd half on a 12-2 run and forcing an Arabians timeout at 44-26. Pendleton Heights clawed back to 47-34, and then Ashaan Singh put the Arabians on his back, scoring 7 straight points to begin the 4th quarter. The lead had been cut to 8 when Singh needed a quick break in the middle of the 4th, but that was as close as the Arabians would get. The Raiders broke the traps of the visitors and secured the victory, moving them to 2-0 on the season. Cooper Sims led PHHS with 23 points, including 4 threes. Ashaan Singh scored 13 and added 6 rebounds and 4 assists, which were both teams highs. Hayden Fox scored 10 (2/3 from deep) with 2 assists, while Evan Mozingo added 5 with 2 steals and an assist. The loss drops the Arabians to 0-2 this season as they prepare to face Westfield at home on Tuesday night.
