The weather held out for us again. It started a little hot, but then we had some cloud cover and the rain held off till we finished. It must be the year for golf. The Lady Arabians traveled to Arrowhead golf course to take on the Marauders of Mt. Vernon. We played a varsity team of 6 count 4 and JV team of 6 count 4. I was very pleased with how all the girls played tonight. We bested our previous score for 9 holes of 179 by shooting a 173. Even though with improved on our best score by 6 strokes, we didn't play well enough to beat the Marauders score of 166. We had a lot of good scores tonight. Senior Zoe Lawrence had a personal best of 40, with 4 pars and 1 birdie, and was low medalist for the match. Senior, Addison Summerall had 4 pars and a nice round of 43. Freshman, Bella Shetterley had a nice round of 43 and 2 pars. Finishing off the top 4 was Junior, Morgan Bricker with a 47. Junior, Claire Bowman scored a 48 and Sophomore, Kiersten Dujmovich shot 50. Any time you can play away from your home course and shoot well you have had a good day of golf. Our JV team also fell to the Marauders. Their home course advantage proved to be too much for us. The Marauders 192 and PHHS 210. I am again proud of the girls for how they played. Medalist for the match was Junior, Olivia Haugh with a nice round of 47. She was followed by new comer Ava Reed with a personal best of 51. Well done Ava. Playing a little under the weather was Senior, Leila Reef with a 55 and Senior Kaylee Smith a 57. Hoping these two feel better soon. Sophomores, Reese Chadburn and Delaney Mort both had personal bests with 59. Very proud of these girls for improving every practice and every match we play. Well played matches by all the girls playing. Our next match will be against Noblesville at Harbour Trees on Tuesday September 3, with a start time of 5pm. Keep practicing and keep improving. We celebrated and drowned our sorrows at Ohanalulu with ice cream and doughnuts!!! Can it get any better???? LIVE GOLF - LOVE GOLF Coach Slick
