Girls Golf: The Pendleton Preview Recap

By Michael Smith | Aug 6, 2024 1:09 PM

The PHHS girls golf team kicked off the season by hosting our first tournament, the Pendleton Preview. The weather was overcast and steamy, but that was a good thing for our 9am start. We had 2 Pendleton teams in the tournament. We were also surprised by some former players, Skylar Baldwin, Kelsey Day, and Addison Nichols who came to watch and support their former teammates. Thanks girls, that made my day and you were great recruiters. We had 3 teammates that couldn't play, but they were there supporting. Sophomores, Reese Chadburn, Delaney Mort, and Ava Reed. T PH Green consisting of freshman, Bella Shetterley, senior Addison Summerall, junior Claire Bowman, senior Leila Reef, and junior Olivia Haugh. This team placed second in the tournament, with a score of 374. This was a great start for our season. I think it is only going to get better. Freshman, Bella Shetterley was medalist for the Arabians and made the top five, placing 4th as an individual with a score of 84. Senior, Addison Summerall wasn't far behind with 89. Junior Claire Bowman 99, Senior Leila Reef 102, and Junior, Olivia Haugh 115. PH White was a 4 person team consisting of: Sophomore Kiersten Dujmovich shooting a 113, Junior Morgan Bricker 101, Senior Kaylee Smith 113, and Senior Zoe Lawrence 96. With only 4 on the team all 4 scores counted and their total was 423 and placing 7th. I am happy with the girls, they did their best and I look forward to our next match on Monday against Lawrence at home 4:30 start time. LIVE GOLF--LOVE GOLF Coach Hilary Slick
