At the most recent school board meeting, the South Madison Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees approved a contract that partners Pendleton Heights Athletics with Community Sports Medicine a division of Community Health Network. The current agreement is effective immediately. The newest contract will end a long standing partnership with IU Health Network. Pendleton Heights top priority continues to be health and safety and feels like Community Health Sports Medicine will be a great benefit to student-athletes. "IU Health was a great partner for several years and we thank them for their commitment to PHHS Athletics. However, we now look forward to working with our new sports medicine provider, Community Sports Medicine. I think we are a great fit together and will allow us to provide more convenient locations for treatment over what we were previously offering. Athletic Director, Chad Smith stated. Parents and athletes can rest assured that there will not be much change in the injury treatments and rehab of getting athletes back to action. Long-time Athletic Trainer, Chris Chambers, will continue to serve in the same role under the new agreement. Smith continued, "We are extremely grateful that Community Health Network gladly accepted our wishes to keep Mr. Chambers a part of Pendleton Heights Athletics, he is a big part of what we do." Community Sports Medicine takes care of athletes of all age and levels and provides the same sports medicine experts that care for professional athletes in our community. Community Sports Medicine is the official provider of the professions sports teams, the Indy Fuel and Indy Eleven. Community Sports Medicine also partners with our area schools to provide the sports medicine coverage at practice and games throughout the year. Local high schools partnered with Community Sports Medicine include Hamilton Southeastern, Fishers, and Anderson. Community Sports Medicine also has multiple schools in other central Indiana locations. The goal is to keep student athletes performing at their very best. Parents and student-athletes should expect the same treatment and coverage as before. Any changes in policy and procedures will be passed along when needed.
