Fortville, IN | 5/16/2024 Senior Will Coggins dramatically ran his way into the Regional 1600M race at Pike next week. He finished 4th , but his time was still good enough to make the field. He added nearly 5 seconds to his time by taking a spill 2 meters from the finish line, laying stunned for a few moments, and then crawling across the line two-tenths of a second after the 3rd place finisher. But he’s ok and he’s on to the Regional meet with a time of 4:30.09! Junior Gabe Martin also made things dramatic by fouling on his 4th and 5th attempts before rallying to a third-place finish on his final throw in the Shot Put to advance with a put of 44’ 6”. Sophomore Benson Davis led for 3100 meters of a very fast 3200M race before finishing just behind the winner to claim 2nd place and a spot in the Regional field in a near PR of 9:39.47.
