Arabians Jump On Cougars Early But Falter Late

By Michael Smith | May 6, 2024 11:11 AM

The Arabians jumped out to a 1-0 lead early against the Cougars. That lead stood through the first four innings but a six-run top of the fifth for the Greenfield-Central Cougars proved to be too much to overcome and the Arabians dropped the opener of a two-game series by the score of 9-2. Ty Frakes and Mazon Saxon each went 2-3 on the day. Frakes added a run and an RBI to his statline as well. Colton Frank got the start and gave four strong innings to start before running into trouble in the fifth. He finished up his day allowing six runs on seven hits while striking out three. Jameson Walford came on in relief and allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out two. The Arabians will travel to Greenfield and will look to split the series tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.
