Two Pendleton Heights cross country runners will wrap up their postseason journeys on Halloween. Maddie Marsh will represent the girls team and Connor Weflen will represent the boys team in the final race of the season. To celebrate these fine Arabians, PHHS will hold their traditional Arabian Pride State Finals Drumline Parade on Friday. Students will line the halls of the building while Maddie and Connor are escorted by the PHHS Marching Arabians Drumline. Marsh, a senior, is no stranger to the state finals stage. She is a 3-time girls wrestling state champion but will be making her first ever trip to the cross country state finals. She joins a very small and select group of Pendleton Heights athletes to represent the Arabians in the IHSAA State Finals in two different sports. Marsh finished 20th in Sectional and 28th in the Regional to qualify. Weflen, also a senior at Pendleton Heights, will be returning to the final race of the season for the second straight year. He qualified as junior and represented the Arabians in 2025. Weflen will be looking to improve on last year's finish and end his Arabians running career on a high note. He qualified for the IHSAA Boys Cross Country State Finals by finishing 8th in the Sectional and 10th at last weekend's Regional in Columbus.
