Lamkin Takes Over Tennis Programs

Grant Lamkin Hired to Run Tennis Programs At their last meeting the South Madison Community School Board of Trustees approved Grant Lamkin as the next tennis head coach at Pendleton Heights. Lamkin will serve in the top role for both the girls and boys tennis programs. Lamkin is a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School in the class of 2017. He helped lead the Huskies on the tennis courts as a four year player. Following high school, Lamkin earned his undergrad degree in Exercise Science from IUPUI (currently IU Indianapolis) and then earned his Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Ball State University. Lamkin’s coaching experience includes being an assistant tennis coach at Mt. Vernon High School this past year in both the fall (boys) and spring seasons (girls). Lamkin is also a tennis instructor at Community Sports and Wellness in Pendleton as part of the Indiana Premier Tennis program. “Tennis has had a tremendous impact on my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back by leading the boys and girls tennis programs at PHHS. I’m excited to work alongside our student-athletes, families, and school community to continue building a great program centered on growth, teamwork, and competitive excellence.” Lamkin stated. His work ethic and demeanor as described by the people who know him, make him a great fit at Pendleton Heights. He also has experience in coaching youth athletes by way of his tennis instructor job at CSW. His knowledge of our community and as an assistant coach in our athletic conference will serve him well.”
