The Arabians never let Covenant Christian settle in as they came ready to hit right out of the gate. The first nine Arabian hitters reached base safely and ultimately scored before Covenant recorded an out. From there, the Arabian pitching and defense held strong to secure the win. Every Arabian hitter notched at least one hit on the night and five Arabians finished the game with multiple hit performances. Brandt Gray went 2-3 with a double, walk, three RBIs, and three runs scored, and added three stolen bases as well. Colin Axel-Adams went 2-4 with a double, triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Liam Davis finished 2-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Jack Keesling ended his night going 2-3 with a BB, an RBI, and two runs scored. Hudson Frank went 2-4 with an RBI and run scored as well. On the mound, Jackson Maifield got the start and was dominant. He and Brandt Gray combined for a no-hitter on the mound. Maifield went four innings, no runs, no hits, no walks, and one strikeout. The win is the second in a row for the Arabians and they improve their overall record to 5-3. The Arabians are dormant for the next few days, but will be back in action this Saturday, 4/18, when they take on Brebeuf in their opening round match-up of the Nick Muller Tournament hosted by Anderson High School. That game is scheduled roughly for a 12:30 pm start.
