At their last meeting the South Madison Community School Board of Trustees approved Kyle Hobbs as the next girls’ golf head coach at Pendleton Heights. Hobbs is an Anderson High School graduate and attended Indiana State University. While at ISU, Hobbs was a standout member of the cross country and track and field teams. He was inducted into the Indiana State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. Hobbs spent his career as a high school educator and coach. The majority of those years came at Elwood High School where he served as a head basketball and head golf coach. For the past 16 years, Hobbs has served education based athletics and student-athletes as a IHSAA licensed official in basketball and softball. "I appreciate the opportunity that the Pendleton Heights Administration has given me to return to coaching and lead their Girls Golf Program. The Arabians have had a long history of competitive and successful teams. As we move forward, we will embrace that history and build upon it for years to come." Statement from Chad Smith, Athletic Director at Pendleton Heights: “We are excited to watch Kyle Hobbs guide our girls’ golf program. He has multiple years of head coach experience in two different sports and presented a future plan to grow the sport of girls’ golf at Pendleton Heights.” Hobbs will meet with anyone interested in playing golf to discuss the remainder of the offseason on Tuesday.
