Girls Basketball Defeats Richmond to Move on to Sectional Championship!

Pendleton Heights hosted the Richmond Red Devils Friday night heading into the second round of sectional playoff games. The Lady Arabians set the tone in the first quarter scoring 34 and only allowing the Red Devils to put up 8 on the scoreboard. Things didn’t change as the score at halftime was 58 to 23 with Pendleton setting their eyes on the Sectional Championship game. Starters worked a good portion of the third quarter before Coach Rogers began playing the entire team. Sophomore Mallory Schug proved to be a shooter while Jada McGraw worked inside the paint. Ellie Warfel led the young group in the fourth quarter with 6 points. Pendleton Heights didn’t let up until the final buzzer, finishing the game 84 to 30. Adah Hupfer finished with 23 points followed closely behind by Olivia Jones with 21. Mamie Trout and Sami Brunk both finished with 9 with the majority of the team contributing to the Arabian win. Pendleton Heights will face off against Greenfield Central on Saturday at 7:30PM in the championship game. The Lady Arabians are looking to repeat history by gaining another Sectional title for Pendleton Heights High School.
