North High School is proud to announce the inaugural Danny Sparrow Baseball Invitational, taking place on Saturday, May 17, in honor of the late Coach Danny Sparrow, one of the most respected and accomplished coaches in North High School history. Coach Sparrow served as Head Baseball Coach from 1989 to 2013, compiling an impressive career record of 372-289-1 over 25 seasons. Under his leadership, the program achieved remarkable success, including: • State Runner-Up finishes in 2002 and 2005 • Semi-State Champion in 2002 and 2005 • Regional Championships in 2002 and 2005 • Sectional Championships in 2002, 2005, and 2013 • SIAC Championships in 2000, 2002, 2005, and 2012 Coach Sparrow’s excellence was widely recognized, earning him: • Metro Coach of the Year honors in 2002, 2005, and 2013 • IHSBCA & District Coach of the Year in 2013 • Selection as the Indiana South All-Star Coach in 2005 In recognition of his lasting impact on student-athletes and the North athletic community, Coach Sparrow was inducted into North High School's Coaches Corner Hall of Fame. This invitational stands as a tribute to his dedication, success, and love for the game. Beyond the accolades and wins, Coach Sparrow was a role model and mentor who left a lasting impression on generations of student-athletes. He was known for his humility, dedication, and deep love for the game and the players he coached. The Danny Sparrow Baseball Invitational will celebrate his legacy with a day of high-level baseball and heartfelt remembrance.
