Braden Van Allen, a 2015 graduate of North High School, is one of the most accomplished players in the history of North boys soccer. From the moment he stepped on the field as a freshman starter, his skill, vision, and leadership were evident. That season, he earned All-City Academic honors and finished third on the team in assists. As a sophomore, Braden helped lead the Huskies to their first-ever Sectional Championship and an appearance in the Regional title match. He recorded 15 goals and 10 assists while earning All-City, All-SIAC, and All-District honors. Braden’s junior year was exceptional, as he tallied 16 goals and 19 assists, earning Team MVP, Team Golden Boot, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-City, and 2nd Team All-State recognition. His senior season was historic—becoming the first player in program history to be named Evansville Metro Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State. Despite missing six games due to injury, he still posted 9 goals and 11 assists while serving as team captain and earning Academic All-State honors. Braden finished his North career with 43 goals and 47 assists, ranking second all-time in assists and third in goals. After graduation, he continued his soccer career at Virginia Commonwealth University before transferring to Butler University. There, he was part of the 2016 Big East Tournament Championship team and the 2017 Big East Regular Season champions, helping the Bulldogs reach the NCAA Sweet 16. Braden’s legacy at North is defined by his records, academic excellence, and unwavering commitment to elevating the program—cementing his place as one of the most influential players to ever wear the Husky uniform. Again, congratulations Braden Van Allen! Once a Husky, always a Husky!
