The Varsity Boys Basketball Team started the season with a nice 63- 51 win Friday night at home vs. last year’s Wolverine Conference runner-up Plainwell. After taking a commanding 24-1 lead to wrap up the first quarter, the Eddies battled through a strong effort from Plainwell the rest of the way. Maverick Gates led all scores with 28 points, while Blaise Crist put up 15 points. Michael Wright and Reed Gates each hit for 7 points as well. The Trojans were able gain some ground back in the second half, cutting the lead to 9, but the Eddies took control in the fourth quarter and finished with their first conference win of the 2025-26 season. The Eddies play on the road at road Buchanan this Tuesday (12/9). Tip off time is scheduled for 7:30pm following the Freshman & JV games.
