Crown Point High School Athletics

Girls' Soccer captured the Sectional Championship Saturday afternoon 6-1 over Lake Central in a balanced effort. Ariana Schutt opened the scoring early on a feed from Reily Beach. Another combo between those two led to Schutt being taken down in the box. Brooklyn Rosenbaum made it 2-0 on the penalty kick. Later in the half, Finley Maurer had a great goal from a Sophia Maldonado pass. Maldonado then got the 4th goal early in the second half on a pass from her sister Lily and then scored the 5th goal on a penalty kick after Lily was tackled in the box. Lily Maldonado then finshed the scoring with a goal from a Finley Maurer assist. Next up is a matchup at Valpo Wednesday night at 6pm. A special shout out goes to our scout team for the week who challenged us and made us better while simulating our opponent. Another shoutout to the parents who helped prepare a great breakfast this morning. And finally to our CPGS alumni who made the trip. It was a great day to be a Bulldog. We go again Wednesday.
