Roman Claims State Title as Boys Track & Field Close Out Strong Season

Following several lightning delays, Isaac Roman found himself among the final four athletes remaining in the pole vault at 16’3”. On his third and final attempt of the night, Isaac found lightning in a bottle, becoming the only athlete left to clear 16’3”, capturing the State Championship! Joining Isaac on the podium was teammate Jackson Donovan, who earned a 7th-place finish after clearing 14’9”. Elsewhere in the field events for the Bulldogs, Jay O’Barski finished 27th in the high jump with a clearance of 6’0”, while Cayden Smith placed 17th in the long jump with a distance of 22’0.5”. Representing the Bulldogs on the track, the 4x800-meter relay team of Caleb Kotynski, Kuba Nurek, Jackson Zona, and Jake Metzger ran a season-best 7:52.91 to finish 17th. Jackson Zona returned later in the meet to finish 29th in the 1600-meter run in 4:29.15, while Jake Metzger placed 25th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.14. This wraps up a great season for the Boys Track & Field team, finishing 3rd in the DAC, 2nd at Sectionals, 3rd at Regionals, and 17th at the State Finals. Results Attached!
