Boys Track Defeat LaPorte, Fall to Chesterton; Move to 4-1-1 in DAC Competition

The Crown Point Boys Track & Field team continued DAC competition Tuesday night at Chesterton, splitting its double dual against Chesterton and LaPorte. The Bulldogs defeated LaPorte and fell to Chesterton, moving their conference record to 4-1-1. Crown Point had several strong performances across the lineup, highlighted by event wins from Corey Davis in the 110 hurdles, Jake Baumann in the 800, Isaac Roman in the pole vault, and the 4x800 relay team of Jake Metzger, Jackson Zona, Jake Baumann, and Jakub Nurek. Top-3 Varsity Finishers 100 Meter Dash Jack Pulley placed 3rd overall with a time of 11.35 400 Meter Dash Owen Dorin placed 2nd in 52.80, while Landon Burnett finished 3rd in 53.18. 800 Meter Run Crown Point dominated the 800, sweeping the top three spots. Jake Baumann won the event in 2:04.11, followed closely by Jake Metzger in 2nd at 2:04.91 and Caleb Kotynski in 3rd at 2:05.35. 1600 Meter Run Jackson Zona earned a 3rd-place finish in the 1600 with a time of 4:30.21 3200 Meter Run Freshman Dominic Buonadonna finished 3rd overall in the 3200 with a time of 10:11.72 110 Meter Hurdles Corey Davis won the 110 hurdles in 15.66, while Fletcher Dickinson added a 3rd-place finish in 16.09. 300 Meter Hurdles Blythe Dieck placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.16. 4x100 Meter Relay The team of Eric Jacobs, Amari McClore, Logan Friedman, and Caydon Smith placed 2nd with a time of 43.99. 4x400 Meter Relay Crown Point placed 2nd in the 4x400 as Owen Dorin, Landon Burnett, Josiah Ardister, and Lyric Ewing ran 3:31.61. 4x800 Meter Relay The Bulldogs won the 4x800 relay, with Jake Metzger, Jackson Zona, Jake Baumann, and Jakub Nurek combining to run 8:22.62. Top-3 Field Event Finishers High Jump Jay O’Barski placed 2nd with a jump of 6-2. Pole Vault Crown Point swept the top three spots in the pole vault. Isaac Roman won the event with a clearance of 16-6, followed by Jackson Donovan in 2nd at 15-3 and Bobby Scott in 3rd at 14-0. Long Jump Oscar Biasi finished 3rd with a jump of 20-10. Shot Put Dominic Fantin placed 3rd with a throw of 47-0. Discus Zaid Tadros finished 3rd in the discus with a throw of 130-11. The Bulldogs will look to keep building momentum as they compete at home next Tuesday against Lake Central on Senior Night. Go Dogs!
