Crown Point defeated the Merrillville Pirates 12-0 on Wednesday in Merrillville. The Bulldogs scored 10 runs in the first inning. Lulu Johnston singled, scoring one run, Ashlyn Kita doubled, scoring one run, Eva Govert singled, scoring one run, Elle Czyszczon singled, scoring one run, Anna Neal singled, scoring one run, Amaria Yarbrough singled, scoring one run, Scarlette Tegtman grounded out, scoring one run, Kita singled, scoring one run, Evi Cuevas singled, scoring one run, and Govert drew a walk, scoring one run. Crown Point added one run in the second. Paige Liezert singled to center field, making the score 11-0. Emily Biesen earned the win in the circle for Crown Point. The starter allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. The Dogs piled up 16 hits in the game. Liezert went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead CP in hits. Yarbrough, Neal, and Czyszczon each collected multiple hits. Biesen paced with two walks. Crown Point will travel to Evansville to play Floyd Central for their next game on Friday.
