The Cathedral boys volleyball team was awarded the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for their success in the classroom during the 2022/23 school year. The AVCA also named Cathedral to the Honor List for being in the top 20% of GPA's for boys volleyball teams across the nation. This is the 18th consecutive year the Irish have received the award and 20th overall. The volleyball team earned a 4.01 GPA this past school year and had eight players named Academic All-State by the Indiana Boys Volleyball Coaches Association.
