The Fighting Irish boys volleyball lost a hard fought state championship match 2-3 (22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 26-24, 12-15). Cathedral finishes the year with a 28-4 record and won the Metro Tournament. In the fourth set, the Irish were down 17-21 but fought back to win the set and force a deciding fifth set. Cathedral battled to the end but Roncalli was able to claim the championship. Ryan Peterson recorded 20 kills and Lincoln Hieser added 16 kills. Nick Whitley distributed 49 assists. On defense the Irish were led by Austin Rowe with 20 digs, Whitley with 15 and Jake Werne contributed 14 digs.
