Cathedral and La Salle enter tonight’s game with identical 4-2 records. The Fighting Irish won their last outing against Frederick Douglass, 28-19, in Lexington, Kentucky. The Lancers lost their last game at Greater Catholic League South conference opponent Archbishop Moeller 28-20. Last week, Cathedral running back Jalen Bonds gained 113 yards on the ground, his second 100 plus yard effort of the season, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Danny O’Neil needs just 21 yards passing tonight to reach the 7,000-yard milestone for his career. La Salle quarterback Pat McLaughlin completed 24 of 39 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in last Friday’s loss to Moeller. Lancer two-way starter Koy Beasley, a Purdue recruit, returns to action tonight after missing the last five games due to an injury. La Salle is unbeaten at home this season and its two road losses have been by a combined 12 points. Cathedral has won all six previous games against the Lancers dating back to their first meeting in 1998.
