The Fighting Irish boys volleyball team won the 2026 City Tournament to claim their second straight city title! In the championship match, Cathedral defeated Covenant Christian 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-16) to bring home the title. Owen Peterson led the offense with 15 kills and Quinn Braun added seven. The Irish controlled the net with middle hitters Joey Whelan and Aayan Miles adding six kills each. In the semifinals, Cathedral defeated Bishop Chatard 3-1 (25-20, 25-16, 16-25, 25-15) behind 34 assists from Cale Persic. Libero Jake Werne recorded 21 digs and Owen Peterson had 22 kills. The Irish received a bye in the first round and defeated Heritage Christian 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
