Girls Soccer Defeat Princeton 3-1

By Adam Wadsworth | Sep 15, 2025 9:32 PM

BHS Girls Soccer took down the Princeton Lady Tigers 3-1 on Monday night! The contest was dominated by an attack led by Maya Cobb, Morgan Poellein, Ellie Tieman, Ava Kelley, and Mad Dog Strahle! The pioneers pressed the Tigers for the majority of the first, but the deadlock wasn't broken until Morgan Poellein dribbled into the right side of the box and played a brilliant ball back to Alexis Sinani who fired a shot into the far post. The shot might have gone in on its own, but Ava Kelley made it a certainty by putting a foot in and placing it in the net. Alexis still gets the credit for her first varsity assist! Way to go Alexis! In the second half the tigers leveled the score with a free kick outside the box, just getting out of keeper Molly Lockridge's reach BHS were undeterred by the setback and kept pressure up for the rest of the half, netting two more goals, one from a Maya Cobb corner that fell to the quick thinking Ellie Tieman, and the other from a terrific effort from Maya Cobb, who received the ball with her back to goal, spun out to her right and took a no look snapshot that found the back of the net. Big praise to Nikki Snow who worked tirelessly at the center midfield role, winning several vital balls out of the air to protect the back line. The pioneers have a day off before celebrating senior night on Wednesday against the Washington Hatchets. Ceremonies begin at 4:50, before the match at 5. JV will play a half after varsity. Show up and support our wonderful seniors!
